In 2006 Chipboard and chipboard products have made a huge impact on scrapbooking, Chipboard is a trendy, inexpensive embellishment that you can add to your scrapbook layouts to give them that extra dimension. Chipboard is available in ready made shapes and alphabets or you can make your own using templates, free hand designs or by using a Sizzix machine, Cricut, Craft Robo etc.

Ideas to jazz up your chipboard

      Paint shapes, letters etc with acrylic paints

      Soak chipboard in liquid dye

      To give an heritage aged look soak chipboard in a strong coffee mix

      To alter your painted shapes: lightly sand, paint with crackle medium or cover with Modge podge.

      Cover with patterned paper –

o       Lay your shape upside down on the wrong side of your patterned paper (pattern side down).

o       Trace with pencil. Remove shape and cut design.

o       Flip over, glue to shape.

o       Finish edges with ink or paint – this is optional

      Attached torn pieces of patterned paper all over trim and add a clear varnish

      Apply adhesive to the chipboard shape and then shake on glitter beads or confetti

      Add brads and eyelets to your chipboard
