Making the
most out of your alphabets
We have all been there...you are
picking out your letters for a title, you have found the right colour and shape
letters in your own supplies but you are one letter short ! So before you shout
"bugger one letter short" Let me show you with a bit of creativity and luck how
to help you solve this scrapping dilemma.

Use an upside down V and any other straight piece (eg Z or X) and cut and
add bar across to form and A

Use an R by trimming it a little and using a part of another letter (try a
lower case letter) to form the curve at the bottom of the B
-
You can use and of the following and a pair of scissors to form a C....O, G,
Q, 0, 6 or a backwards D

Use a C, O, G, or Q and add a straight piece from another letter you have
not used
-
Use an F and add a piece from another letter to add the missing piece of the
E or you could use and L and add 2 straight pieces to form the E
-
Trim off a piece from an E, B, O or R
-
Add a straight piece to a C
-
Use 2 I's and a spare piece across the middle or try 2 1's
-
Trim a J, H, E, F, K, L, M, N, P, R or T to size
-
Cut an I and add spare piece from a Q to form the J
-
Trim off a parts of an R and spare pieces to form the K or and I with a
lower case v
-
Trim of parts of and E or T
-
Use an upside down W
-
Try a Z upside down
-
Trim a Q or 0
-
Trim off an R or B
-
Add a piece to an O or 0
-
Use a P and cut a piece from another letter to form the missing part of the
R
-
Carefully trim a 8 or &
-
Add a piece to I, L or 1

Trim off part of a O,Q or 0

Use part of a W, A or X
-
Use two V's or an upside down M
To hide joins you
could try adding flowers, jelly tiles etc near or over the join
